Up to the Elephant Rocks at Chester for an AST 1. There is clear evidence of wind scouring (W) and loading (E) in the upper bowls. Old cornice failure looks to have produced some sizable slides in the past. A quick look into the snow to find evidence of the wind slabs and persistent slabs. Yup, easy to find. The wind slab broke easily as we dug. I would stay away from loaded slopes especially with the incoming snow. Attached a photo that clearly displays the layers/ densities. Daytime high was -16. Stay safe.
