Fernie - waking the hoars.

Dug a pit. Found the Jan 17 weak layer very reactive. Failed on 1-3 wrist taps on column compression test. About 40cm of storm snow sitting on top. Extended column test did propagate partially across. From there we stayed in the dense trees and open flat meadows. Great day before the cold temps arrived on Sun morning. Saw shooting cracks even in the flat meadows and lots of solar affected snow in the open areas later in the day. Best riding was in the shaded trees.
