Big Y

We skied in the Big Y area. Boot penetration at 1770m on the N aspect of the glacier was 30cm. Snow was heavy powder on top of a harder crust. Avalanche debris from a past size 1.5 avalanche on North aspect maybe occurred during the rapid rise in temperature on Friday or mid-storm on Saturday.
