Baldy Rocks Snow Conditions

During our ascent, the trail breaking was moderate to difficult. Temperatures hovered around -5, but felt warmer due to high humidity. We felt slabs in some areas but saw no signs of instability (we rode apprx. 35 degree slopes). There were no cracking, whumpfing, drum-like sounds, or shooting cracks. The southeast aspect was moderately wind affected from the storm on Thursday. And around the top there was wind loading. The new snow was starting to form a slab in some areas due to the humidity however, the number one issue was loose snow (sluffing).
