- <p>Large facets at the bottom of the snow pack, and smaller grained facets throughout the middle. The Layer of concern that stood out to me was a sneaky, thin, and slippery layer about 55 cm down that formed on the old snow surface and was subsequently buried. Pit was dug in a well sheltered location, so there is a chance this layer is less of a concern in more exposed terrain. </p>
