Rode around Hanging Lake. Stuck to low consequence/chill terrain. Dug a pit and did a column test. Result on CT 15 (medium 5). Failure of first Persistent layer which we found to be about 40-50 cms down. Block slid off with very very light pull after failure. We saw 20-30cms lightish density snow overlaying the recent melt freeze. Then, approx 10-20 cms below the rain crust was where we had the failure and shearing in our CT (40-50cms mentioned above). There was also another noticeable layer approximately 20 cms below the layer where we had the failure. The recent storm snow also slid very easily on the melt freeze but we didn’t see propagation.
