Disappointment Sandwich

Little rip into the Hasler riding area today was able to dig a quick pit HS 130cm with two crusts in the upper pack from the warm Christmas storm. First crust is down 4cm and pretty thin with a 3cm thick crust down 20cm. Pit was dug near TL at 1350m. Down 40cm is where the facets start from the cold snap we had before the holidays. We had stubborn test results, ECTN18 on 3mm facets down 40. We didn’t get into any high elevations to take more observations, with the broken skies visibility was limited but from what we could see there where no new avalanches.

No rain miss clicked and can’t get rid of it. Temps in town were -17, -1.7 at the parking lot 1050m and cooled down to -3.9 at 1350m.
