Quick Observation
Goal was to ski 8812 bowl this morning. When we got to the parking lot the disco had received ~15cm since yesterday at 15:00. The morning started off -4, calm, and clear sky’s at 09:00. The clouds moved in 11:00 and the new system started to unload at 12:00. Temperatures up top stayed pretty constant all day. When we got to the convex roll on bruins ridge we, and two other groups, experienced serious and widespread settling. We dug two pits in the open meadow below the ridge. The SH layer is sitting 30-35 down. The Pit at location #1 (shown above) exhibited: {110-125cm depth, 26 degree slope} STM (SDN) down 30 (SH 10mm) CTE7 SC down 30 on SH (10mm) ECTN7 down 30 on SH (10mm) Pit #2 reflected similar findings with slightly varying depths Decided against making the crossing and found some deep turns on lower angle slopes. It Was snowing heavily at the discovery centre when we left at 13:00
