Surface Hoar Farm Fun

MAST group skinned up to the cut blocks just north of Harvey Pass. Wind slab wasn’t present at lower elevations but was very consolidated and barely ski penetrable in the alpine at ridge top . At 2050m surface hoar was visible and grew to the size visible in the photos (approximately 1-2cm) at 2070m. Compression tests on a North aspect at 2050m showed a resistant planar down 30cm on faceted crystals. On the ski down no signs of instability were observed.
