Quick Observation

Huge settlements (Whumpfing) in NE facing cut block, low angle. Recent snow sitting on suncrust on South-West facing aspects, pin balling and crust starting forming with weekend sun on new snow. Poor traction with new snow and the last wind storm layer making travel tedious. Evidence of wind slabs from wind events, no large reactions cautious travel. Significant drifting in last 24 hrs (Saturday-Sunday)...no new slabs found at TL on W, NW or NE facing slopes. BTL (1400m-) skiing becomes dust on crust, survival skiing for some.

Incident

Heard murmurs of incident on NW face of Matier, not our group so lack of details. Happened while boot packing up face, size 1-1.5. Group was uninjured. Hopefully they will go into details with a report.
