Beautiful bluebird day for sledding up Alexander Creek today. Temperatures in the shade reached -7 C but it sure felt warmer in the sun! Most of treeline and the alpine was wind affected but there was still good sledding to be found in sheltered areas. We dug a couple of snow pits around 2180m on west facing slopes and found a pretty well bonded and stable looking snowpack. There are still some weak sugary depth hoar crystals lurking at the base of the snowpack that might be a problem in areas with thin snowpack coverage. We saw no signs of natural avalanches and experienced no signs of instability like whumfping or shooting cracks all day.
