Spicy, dicey, crusty

Went up avalanche crest. Couple hand shears on the way up showed 20-30cm sliding easily on a layer of snow 5cm above the Dec 1 crust. Repeated this at multiple elevations on the way up. The way down was a mixed bag of slabs releasing easily on steep and convex rolls near the top, mellow powder turns in the middle, and still okay turns at te bottom but heavy snow and you could the crust much more. That and the clouds rolling in and out all day, made for quite an interesting descent.
