AST sled course. we travelled around a bit and went to the end of Bryant Lake to take a look, then up above the lake on the south aspect to take a poke around in the snow and then down into the creek to take another look. See upper lake post for more info re the drum like sounds and slab avalanches. We dug a couple of pits on the S aspect of the creek and found that even in the shelter of the creek the snow pack was still wind affected. Average snowpack was about 125 cms. We got consistent moderate SP CTs and a moderate ( 4 on a 20 degree slope) sled Rb failure about 25 cms down. Same as our higher location we found significant faceting around the trees and it was easy to fall deep into the bonzi tree wells.
