Skied mostly dense trees today W of Gibson lake. Really good skiing with solid coverage down to lake. We entered an open slope from the north side and triggered an avalanche down 40cm on a crust. The storm slab propagated across nearly the entire opening in the forest (~50m). The skier in the front was caught and taken for a short ride, but luckily wasn't buried. We were surprised by how far the slab propagated above us and across the slope given the variable terrain features. Definitely some good learning out there today. Take it easy out there folks!
