Skiing in Japow today, too much snow, we saw and heard multiple size 1.5-3 avalanche in very steep terrain mostly east facing and some recent debris nearby.
The weather cleared up nicely for about an hour in the morning and even some sun. That quickly turned into heavy snowfall and some near white outs for the rest of our day. >15cm of fresh snow from the last couple of days made breaking trail and skiing/pushing down quite exhausting.
We went around the lake in the morning but saw a skintrack across a small section of the lake on the way back and took it. The ice layer was pretty soft and a bit sketchy with part of the lake still open.
