Avalanche Information
I remotely triggered a small avalanche on a northeast-facing, wind-loaded terrain feature with just the right fetch for the few inches of new snow to form a ~10 to12" slab. The slab failed on small facets sitting on top of a thin crust at the new/old snow interface. Right at the bottom of this roller, the small avalanche tried to step down into deeper weak layers.
Weather
recent snowfall (cm): 8
Snowpack
Average HS ~45cm. The new snow was sitting on a thin 1 to 2cm crust on ENE- to NE-facing slopes in this area.
