Sunny Healy Pass

Did a fitness skin up to Healy Pass today. Temp was -14 at the start moving to around -5 at the top. Strong inversion present during first half of day. On way up noticed large surface hoar crystals in large clearings/ avalanche run outs up to 3cm. Seemed isolated to bigger clearings around 1900-2000m. SH not present at clearing near top of pass/ tree line. Temperature appeased to be stable on way down, with no more inversion present. Wind had picked up as we got back to sunshine, with a warm breeze. Point releases evident on many of the SW aspects observed. Run outs were small, not enough loading to propagate.

Rain crust present at 30cm from bottom.
