10cm of new snow since 12/25, with the last ~3cm having accumulated today by 3pm.
I made a couple of targeted snowpack observations around 11,000ft on easterly facing terrain. The 12/25 melt-freeze crust under recent snow will aid in propagation once there is enough load. The most concerning areas were where that crust thins in low-angle terrain or as aspects transition.
A profile on an east-facing slope at 11,000ft had a 4cm 1F crust over previously moist 4F facets. See profile. A NE terrain feature in the same area had a soft 4F crust that was 1cm over F hard facets that had remained dry. Both crusts will fail with enough load, with the northeasterly example becoming more reactive first. .
