Quick Observation
Heading out for a ski today was certainly a choice… Pouring rain up until about 1200m when it turned into a slightly more solid form. This is also where we turned around as we all felt like we had just completed a polar dip by the degree of our wetness. Winds gusting strong from the SW also did not help! Snowpack was thoroughly saturated as high as we got before we turned around. Did not get high enough to see any snow accumulation (still mainly rain where we turned around). Based on liquid precip amounts we saw, I am sure that up higher there was significant storm slab development where it fell as snow. Lots of pinwheeling from steep features. Road was snowy from 500m and the driving became especially challenging around 600m. We parked at 700m, about 6.5km from Rousseau Chute. Thankful for good buddies to keep the spirits high during weather like that!
