Quick Observation

Major activity of new storm slabs on the typical approach up to Asulkan Hut, including a size 1.5 triggered while skinning on a convex roll 150m from the door of the hut. Conditions felt okay until peaking out of trees around 1900m. Triggered several several slides while being very cautious as I went to the hut. Storm slabs propagated 30-50m at 20-40cm in depth. Slides took place even on low angle slopes. With major concern I opted to get into higher ground at the hut and ski low angle slopes avoiding and terrain traps. Once back in tree line, conditions felt good. Use extreme caution in the alpine. These were by far the touchiest conditions I have ever encountered.
