Quick Observation

Skied from the Burstall Lakes over the Commonwealth-Pig's Tail col, down to the other side, and up and over the Tryst Lake Chutes. Broken skies today with variable winds, but no snow transport. South aspects have 10cm of pow over a crust, which makes for some ugly skinning up towards the Commonwealth Col. The cornice at the ridge is fairly small and easy to get around. Not much for wind loading on the N side of the col, just pretty decent skiing down to the creek from here, but still crusty in spots. Sloughing in the Tryst Lake Chutes approaching size 1 dry loose, entraining the top 5-10 cm and running on what felt like crust. Not that many new tracks in the chutes today, but evidence of lots of old ones just before the surface.
