Quick Observation

North aspect was good Riding. 15cm new dry snow last night. There is a thin easily breakable melt freeze crust from freezing rain event yesterday. 5 to 10mm surface hoar easily found down 45cm and hard crust at 50cm(maybe saw the other surface hoar layer above crust. Snow is light density on N aspect with a bit of wind affect observed at ridgetops. A bit of sluffing from skiing on steeper terrain. We rode 30 to 45 deg in open treed terrain.

Avalanche Information

No visual of start zone at time of observation. Small size 2 running to mid runout of the main NE face of plewman. I suspect it happened naturally early last night or yesterday. My guess on the Surface Hoar layer down 45cm.
