Louise Falls - Ice

Day was overcast with no new snow overnight or through the day. Winds were calm on the climb. There was sluffing on the cliffs to our left as we climbed. The decent gully appeared to also have previously sluffed from above. While crossing the final open slope on the decent (just before getting back to the base of the ice) we experienced one whumph. When walking in non compacted areas foot pen was anywhere from mid thigh to waist deep. Ice was a mix of almost all conditions from brittle to plastic, wet and dry depending on the line you took.
