Quick Observation

Gorgeous day out in the Coquihalla. Skied up the ridge to Needle pk. Up track is icy in some spots with a thin layer of soft, wet snow on top. Ridge tops are crusty and wind-affected as expected. Evidence of cornice falls on the north face of needle and lots of loose wet activity on south and west aspects from the recent temperature rise. Skied out the bowl down the east side of the ridge. Snow was surprisingly good quality all the way to the bottom of the drainage. 1800m-1600m 10cm of dry, windblown powder. 1600m and below 10-20cm of heavier snow overlying a melt-freeze crust
