Triggered several small Sz1-1.5 soft slab avalanches on steeper northerlies. Crowns ranged from 10-30cm deep and up to 15m wide. The largest ran ~150m in a steeper feature. The deepest crowns were in areas where sluff or spindrift had collected. While the slides were relatively small because there wasn't too much new snow, they were very easy to trigger and propagation was surprising.
Also saw evidence of a recent natural Sz1 and Sz1.5 in steep NE terrain.
These slides occurred at all elevations we travelled in avalanche terrain (the lowest was ~950m, the highest ~1250m).
I expect that as temperatures rise and more new snow falls these will become larger and even easier to trigger.
