We observed the remains of an avalanche that originated in the high alpine on the north side of the valley. I ran about halfway down the face. Estimated no more than 3 days old.
Weather
Intermittent snow during the day. Old skin tracks were filled in to about 10 cm.
Snowpack
Facets observed at bottom of snow pack.
Ski penetration was in a 20 degree runout zone. Foot penetration was a valley bottom.
