Two avalanches: the initial skier-triggered avalanche and a sympathetic avalanche that ran on steep terrain 400 m from the first. Both avalanches ran on basal facets above glacier ice.

This incident submitted on behalf of third party: Party of six, skier accidental, four involved, two partially buried, all subjects self extricated, no injuries. All involved feel very lucky.
