Quick ski tour east of Manning

Quick tour east of Manning Park. Mid shin+ ski penetration, ski poles couldn't bottom out. Noticeable snowpack instability: whumphing and settling heard and felt, but no natural avalanches observed. Did not dig a pit, but from probing the snowpack with a pole, an obvious extreme low density layer was approx 1m down - it is assumed this was what was settling.
