Asulkan Valley

Skinned up to Asulkan hut planning to do the Seven Steps. Everything above the hut was completely wind-scoured. Prospects of shitty skiing and skinning through high winds led to us turning around. The alpine is in really rough shape - the thinnest I've ever seen it at this time of year. Lots of exposed rock and even a couple spots of exposed ice on the outskirts of the glacier. After 200m or so of hard transitioning to punchy windslab, skiing below the hut was decent - 5 to 10cm of dense powder. Keep your head up out there, still many sharks to be caught!
