Murchison Falls

Cloudy and sunny day today and it felt warm. The avalanche slope that threatens the approach to Murchison did not look very loaded and had lots of rocks showing. However, the snow slope leading up to the base of the climb involved some deep sections of wallowing and we experienced numerous whumpfs along the way. 10-20cm of rapidly settling snow sits on top of an unsupportive slab, facets below to ground. The right line on Murchison overall climbed very well with a breakable lens over some sections. There is an overhanging cornice developing on climbers left. Virtual Reality and But My Daddy's a Psycho are starting to fill in nicely. On our descent in the trees, we noticed a thin temperature crust on the surface of the snow below 1800m.
