Quick Observation

Great day out at the Gorge, Light SW wind all day at ridge top scattered cloud with no precip. Avoided a run with convexed slope rode mellower line off the summit. Also rode steep trees small bit of dry loose but nothing of concern. Through out the day had now major signs of instability and heard the same from another group. Dug two pits at the top different results in each one.

Weather

Inversion today the temps were staying cold up too.

Snowpack

Dug two pits just at the top of open run below the ridge 15m apart. One of them HS 206cm 29degrees ECTX North aspect, this location must be prone to wind loading. 55cm down fist to 4F 85cm down 1F 130cm down 4F Other pit HS 135cm this was also about 5m lower than other pit. One first test CTM15 RP down 100cm Second test CTH27 RP down 100cm Obs through the day SH 3-5mm on surface in open areas another fun layer to add to the mix when we get the next storm.
