Hankin AST 2 Obs

<p>Only , 5cm of new snow, Mod SW winds building very thin windslabs, Temps max 2c, Min -2c. No new avalanches obs, but poor visibility into high start zones. We dug a hasty pit on a South aspect, near treeline, 1485m, and found 130cm depth of snowpack, we observed the Jan 19 buried hoarfrost down 20cm, and the early January facets layer down @ 50cm. We performed 1 extended column test, and had no propagation (cracking across the block) failures. There are large cornices hanging over many start zones on Northerly aspects.</p>
