Pig's Back

Nice day out, temperature inversion, -10 at the car and ~-4 when we started descending. Thin melt/freeze crust in the trees and valley bottom, and wind crust in open areas higher up, supportive snow underneath made travel easy. Lots of snowballs and pinwheels in areas with solar exposure that appeared at least a day old but we didn't see any evidence of slides. On the descent noticed more surface hoar near valley bottom.
