A good ski day on feather. We ascended the east flank, didn't quite summit, skied down the north side below the chute, and exited via the Notch. We had 10-20cm of powder on most surfaces we skinned up. Before descending we dug a 90cm pit and encountered strong consolidated snow, with only one/two potential weak layers. Tap test (wrist, elbow, shoulder) yielded no failure. We had a slab release 30cm down only after a skier jumped on surface directly above pit wall. Saw no signs of recent natural avalanches during the day. Overall, a good day of skiing and we're glad we took a chance and went out.
