Quick report
Travel today was Cardiff Pass, LSB NE facing, Cardiac Ridge. Snow was well behaved today, the long running sluffs, and soft slabs of yesterday were not a factor today in the areas traveled. Did note soft slab activity from yesterday on Cardiac Ridge, one of note was off of Hansens, started up in the cliff bands and ran almost to the flats. Pics soft slab on Cardiac Ridge.
Snow seems to be quite stable in Cardiff no cracking or collapsing noted. Poking around in the starting zone of Cardiac Ridge revealed a solid snow pack with no obvious buried weak layers. The wind did pick up in the late afternoon and was transporting snow to the N and E facing slopes, might want to keep an eye out for fresh wind drifts just off the high ridges tomorrow.
Snowpack
Light density right side up powder. About thigh deep while breaking trail, but not to deep to ski if you had the right tools (fat skies, snow board). Actually some of the best skiing of year.
