- <p>Recent wind loading has deposited a lot of snow near the ridge lines, those wind slabs seemed pretty locked in and would take a large trigger to move.</p> <p>There are some weaker layers as you move down the snowpack but they are gaining strength.</p>
4" of light snow on top of a firm layer, dust on crustish. Column test was able to get a failure on a layer 8" down with some moderately heavy force but there was no propagation. Total snow depth was 88".
