Quick report

We pulled into the Sunburst parking lot to take a photo of a recent-looking avalanche on the SW face of Sunburst. A nice couple said that they had witnessed the avalanche from the lower alder bump around 3 pm and shared their photos. They did not see skiers on the slope at the time of the avalanche, but they said an individual came down across the bed surface a little after the slide. We suspect it was remotely triggered, but don't know for sure. If you have any info on this, please write in to let us know. The slide took out ski tracks on the slope and ran down to the dirt on the parts of the path where glide avalanches had released earlier in the season.
