I took a quick look at the snowpack across the highway from Swan Flat TH at 7600 ft on a NW aspect. The entire snowpack (35cm) was weak and faceted. Here is a picture of the Depth Hoar I found at the bottom of the snowpack in this location (shown on a 3mm grid). Not a good set up!
