- <p>One very small skier triggered wet loose on SE @ 9000' in a very steep area near cliffs was the only activity and generally stability was great with no red flags noted.</p>
Snowpack
Solar aspects generally had a ski supportable 2-3 inch pencil hard melt freeze crust sitting on 6-10" of 4F damp snow all on a stout crust. The surface crust was beginning to thaw by mid day and allowed for some softer turns while staying mostly supportable at mid and upper elevations and less supportable at lower elevations. Boot penetration was into the damp snow and down to the lower crust. The surface crust was noticeably thinner and unsupportable on East aspects and on the ridge line.
N-NE aspects and very protected areas had 6-12" of soft snow varying from dry to moist sitting on a similar stout crust below. Some impressive cornice formation was seen and skier triggered cornice fall did not have any results on the slopes below.
