Bluebird day. Observed recent avalanche activity on E N and S facing terrain on the approach to Ghoulies Point Rode Ghoulies Point into Retirement Bowl direction S trying to avoid 30’+ terrain. There was a crust at upper elevation on Sun exposed surfaces, the crust was gone by the lower angled-lower elevation terrain. Selected a test slope at 6150’ , slope direction 48’ NE, Pit: depth 210 cm, 1st weak layer at 40cm- 5mm surface hoar, 2nd weak layer at 55cm- 2-3mm surface hoar Test were performed in this respective order in the same pit. 12:45pm ECT 1: ECT N 22 at 1st weak layer ECT 2: ECT N 13 at 1st weak layer, ECT N 23 at 2nd weak layer PST 1: PST (50/100) End 55cm on 2-3mm buried surface hoar, PST (40/100) End 40cm on 5mm buried surface hoar ECT 3: ECT N 21 at 1st weak layer, ECT N 22 at 2nd weak layer PST 2: PST (100/115) End 55cm on 2-3mm buried surface hoar, PST (110/115) End 40cm on 5mm buried surface hoar
