Deep and VERY HARD. I didn't feel like you could trigger an avalanche on old facets near the ground.
HOWEVER, Ian was riding around Lionhead the same day and had the same conclusion about that snowpack but saw many avalanches (some only 2-3 days old).
Now, I doubt my assessment.
We didn't see any signs of instabilty or any recent avalanches but we didn't have the greatest visibility either.
We'll go back and reassess.
