Quick report
We took sleds from Canyon Creek today and had a day of relying on our backup plans.
- After parking sleds west of WMR, we toured to Hellroaring Peak.
- We observed evidence of southwest winds building drifts and fresh cornices.
- Cornices were mostly stubborn. Multiple stomps would eventually cause the cornice to fail.
- A melt-freeze crust was most prominent on solar aspects, however we found a surface crust on all aspects, at varying depths.
- 2 inches of new wet snow accumulated throughout the day. Precipitation turned to rain around 4000 feet.

Light snowfall and rain throughout the day. Winds were light. Visibility was limited all day.
Snowpack
Snow profile on a north aspect at 6,650 feet.
- HS: 218 cm
- Early February crust buried 107cm from the surface.
- No propagation in our ECT.
- No results in our Column test: CTN.
Avalanche
Some of yesterday's wet loose debris was observed on steep slopes, however, poor visibility limited our ability to gather useful data.
