Quick report
Skied 3 laps on Colorado going till about 2.5k ft. Weather: consistently sunny and windless. 2F in parking lot according to car. Temp at our high point felt to be in the late teens, there was a strong inversion going on. Snowpack: There was a subtle and thin crust till 1.8k ft, maybe a rain crust that was faceting out. Other than that the surface snow where we skied was facing and predominantly soft. There was some wind effect in open areas in this treeline/near treeline band, which skied a little stiffer/shabby due to the small windslabs. Dug a quick 1m deep pit at 2.4k ft E aspect to look at the structure. 70cm down was a subtle density change from 1F to 4F+ where the snow was small facets. Pole probes throughout the day seemed to verify this subtle upside down structure. Above treeline much of the terrain had some degree wind affected. It looked like all upper elevation ridgelines had recent cornicing too.
