Avalanche zone in surprisingly good shape today. 15cm of fresh powder on top of older, slightly wet snow, very fun to ride on, not a hard crust at 1900m and down. Snow pack observations completed at 1900m. Pit dug down 110cm for snow evaluation. 1 degree Celsius temperature gradient difference (1 degree 110cm down, 0 degrees 5cm down), air temp 2 degrees Celsius. Column compression test performed, at tap from wrist count 10 we had a Non-planar break 23cm down (Suspect April 7th crust). Continued with test, no further reaction through all other compressions. Rutschblock test done for secondary test, no snow pack shearing, confirmed snow pack to be relatively safe. Rode our line after tests, no concerns or snow pack reactions observed.
