Quick report
I dropped off the backside of Mammoth Mountain this afternoon to get a quick look at surface warming on multiple aspects.
- I left the summit around noon.
- On solar aspects ranging from SE to due south surface snow was largely wet and prone to shed in areas that hadn't already.
- Boot pen was measured at 12 cm(~5inches) at 10,200' at 12:20 pm SE aspect
- I triggered numerous roller balls and a few very small Wet Loose sluffs.
- On a NE aspect at 1:00 pm, I found much less supportable or enjoyable snow, and boot pen was measured at 30 cm
