Quick report
Climbed to the top of Basin's E Couloir at 12800' then skied the same route down. About a foot of new snow from last week at high elevations. Light clouds kept the heat down in the morning, but by midday it was sunny and warm. Calm winds. Saw loose wet slides, probably from Sat/Sun, that initiated on the sunny SE-facing cliffs on the climber's right side of the couloir. No wet loose activity or thaw-related rockfall in the couloir today. Widespread wind slabs in the guts of the couloir but nothing sensitive. P-hard+ surfaces were mixed with breakable and patches of textured but loose snow. The climb might go with just ski crampons, but we booted, which was suffer-y due to the underlying soft snow. In some spots there was also a buried firm layer maybe 30cm down with more soft unsupportable crap (not faceted) underneath. Some flatter E-facing areas near the mine held really-almost-there-but-not-quite corn. N/NE facing trees 9950-10250' still held cold loose snow, but it's a bit funky even up there, and also thin in spots. The E-facing apron was re-chilled (but not frozen) almost-corn by the time we skied it around 2PM.
