Quick report
Walked to 10700' in Hippie Trees. Max amt of new snow (night of 8-9 Feb) observed was 2 inches. In a sheltered N-facing spot in the trees at 10300' found HS=120cm. PWL may have been present but was not obvious by probing. Good snow in the trees, but open areas in Tobacco flats and above are a mix of pockets of loose snow and much breakable windboard.
Avalanche
Natural point release from rocks on steep E face of Great White Fang. Started around 11600, ran for several hundred feet. Probably ran on 8 or 9 Feb. Possible buried debris in Hippie Chutes covered by new snow - hard to see in the lighting conditions. Cut a small 5'x5x wind slab loose while skiing around 10k' in a +-30 deg chute. Probably crossloaded from local W winds that had stripped nearby rocks? The slab was overlying soft snow and only ran 15'.
