Sheltered east and northeast aspects near and below treeline with a shallow snowpack. The signs of instability were the result of collapsing in facets between and under crusts buried about a foot deep. Cracks were 40-50 feet long, collapses were feature-scale.

What a beautiful day! Southwest winds at upper elevations were strong enough to continue blowing snow across isolated alpine ridgelines with big upwind fetches.
Snowpack
I dug in the middle of a 40-50' shooting crack 9600' NE BTL where HS = 110 cm. This area had many shallowly buried rocks and shrubs. ECTN1 down 5 cm in F- preserved snowflakes under slightly firmer wind-packed broken grains. ECTP12 down 30 cm in 2mm F har facets under the Crust/Facet sandwich that was buried on the night of 2/4. Crusts were P hard and ~1-2 cm thick where I got collapses/cracks. On SE, the crusts were way thicker and I got no feedback. The whole snowpack under the crust is large facets, and depth haor is the terrain where I traveled.
