Quick report
Toured up to approximately 10,800 feet in Hammil Bowl this morning, turning around at 9:15 AM. Below treeline, the snowpack was soft and granular, with a melt-freeze crust in south facing and more exposed areas. Ski penetration in the soft areas was up to 6 inches. Above treeline in the bowls the surface was alternating windboard and wind drifts, but I saw no signs of instability and jumping on test slopes produced no results. I would've felt very naked without ski crampons on the windboard! Conditions right now are great for fast travel.
