Surprised to see how much strength Nov facets have gained in this area, especially since the snowpack isn't super deep relative to other areas in the upper cottonwoods. Several other probe profiles along length of ridgeline suggest similar structure/hardness in area and that this pit is representative of the area.
New snow instabilities seem to have settled out a bit - no clean shears in any other quick hand pits in the area.
Cleary other areas still have a weaker snow structure though...
